Equally creative, some localities through which river Ng’ombe passes have been trying to clean up the river via their own initiatives. It was encouraging to learn that some neighborhoods had already initiated activities similar to DRP. We then realized that increased coordination with neighborhoods, localities, city municipalities, environmental organizations, environmental clean-up companies like Eco-protection would serve to assist the entire cleaning of the river from its visible source near Changanyikeni, next to University of Dar es Salaam, all the way down to the lower cause via Salender bridge and into the Indian Ocean.
For example, below is a neighbouring locality though which river Ng’ombe passes at Kwa Ali Maua. Here the local council initiated the Ngo,mbe river cleaning on March 14th 2012.
